Dr. Marc Faber, the editor and publisher of “The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report” talks about real-world investing with CNBC’s Brian Sullivan.
Faber thinks the US market is not as strong as the indices show. Although he would have voted for Trump, he says that Trump is a Keynesian, an interventionist, and will have to print money going forward.
Going into 2017, Faber likes:
- Emerging markets ( i.e., Russia up 34%)
- Singapore stocks
- Gold and platinum
For the regular investor, he thinks that treasury bonds (TLT) will rebound. He reminds us that gold as a currency is the strongest on earth — up 11% in the US in 2016.
