Live From Syria, It's the Vietnam War Show!

Hmmm…so, then, what exactly are “unilateral operations” anyway? I bet we’d all like to know. Evidently, that’s what the U.S. military SOCOM operators will be up to in Syria. Oops, I mean, they’ll be based in Iraq. But they’ll enter into Syria from time to time. What, like door-to-door salesmen? See the article here.

First things first. Number one: The Syrian government has not approved of these jokers going back and forth into Syria doing who-knows-what. I wonder how the U.S. would like it if the Mexican government decided it could send covert ops troops into the United States to go after criminals without so much as a by-your-leave? I bet we’d hear all the warhawks screaming bloody murder and demanding instant reprisals, including vaporizing Mexico City.

But this is, after all, how the Vietnam War got started. Excuse me, got started for the United States. See, what happened there was Vietnam was promised independence from the French during World War Two if they would help fight the Japanese. So, they did that but France refused to make good on that promise and wanted to keep Vietnam as a colony. So, they fought the French, after fighting the Japanese. After some time, the French lost Vietnam War, Part One. Then we had this wonderfully corrupt entity known as South Vietnam that the U.S. stepped in to support. As per usual, we can pick ’em, can’t we? Well, Vietnam War, Part Two began with the U.S. sending “advisors” over there. You know, kind of like eating potato chips, you can’t stop with just one. Before you know it, the whole bag is gone. We all know how this turned out, after hearing that American boys wouldn’t be sent to do what Vietnamese boys needed to do for themselves. It all began with these little teams of advisors. Hmmm…imagine that.

“These special operators will over time be able to conduct raids, free hostages, gather intelligence, and capture ISIL leaders,” SecDef Ash Carter told the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee. Gee, really?? Seriously?? I’m curious about those “raids”. Sooner or later, Sergeant Amurican Hero gets killed in one and here will come the warmongers waving the bloody shirt and demanding revenge. Or, worse, bump up into a Russian Spetsnaz unit and the same happens with a demand for retaliation against Russia. As I mentioned previously, Ash also said, “This force will also be in a position to conduct unilateral operations into Syria.” Gee, “unilateral”, huh? And all this on the “sez so” of who? No congressional vote to go to war, let’s just go into a country uninvited and risk a war with them, Russia, Iran, and every militia within 3000 klicks of the place that wants to make a name for themselves. Gosh, that’s swell! And we the people only thought we were going to get a Wheel-O for Christmas! Talk about a shovel-ready Christmas.

Now, these are not the same advisors they told us they already sent over. No, this is MORE being sent. Except these ones have the ability to be more than advisors and terrorist human resources officers. These ones can carry out raids on their own initiative. That’s basically what the “unilateral” means. They might not answer to anyone, nor will anyone know who they are, where they are, what they are doing, who authorized it (if anyone did), and against whom they are operating, and who they support. This is dangerous territory. This is exactly how things can happen like, oh, I don’t know, the Shatila and Sabra Massacres.

Check this out: http://news.yahoo.com/defense-chief-us-expanding-special-operations-force-iraq-155244101–politics.html Ash must be reading from a script for a B-grade war/action film Hollywood rejected as too corny and the Pentagon picked it up cheap. He said, “This is an important capability because it takes advantage of what we’re good at. We’re good at intelligence, we’re good at mobility, we’re good at surprise. We have the long reach that no one else has. And it puts everybody on notice in Syria. You don’t know at night who’s going to be coming in the window. And that’s the sensation that we want all of ISIL’s leadership and followers to have.” I mean, seriously, does this sound like the president’s rally-the-troops speech from the film “Independence Day” or what?? I think the government speech writers start in Hollywood. Why not? If you can write dialogue for an outer space invasion, you can write dialogue where the United States’ role in another country’s civil war is justified.

Indeed, I think we’ll be in this war sooner than we think. That’s probably the whole reason these guys are being sent over. Walking targets to draw enemy fire and justify more troops to protect the troops we sent over. Then we’ll need troops to protect those troops. Before you know it, we’ve taken the Vietnam War off hiatus and re-launched the show in Syria. Cue theme song: “It’s The Quagmire Show! Starring your host, Lyndon Baines Obama, oops, Barack Obama!”

Ash really gilded the Emmy Award for Best War Series here: “Over the past several weeks, because of improved intelligence and understanding of ISIL’s operations, we’ve intensified the air campaign against ISIL’s war-sustaining oil enterprise, a critical pillar of ISIL’s financial infrastructure. In addition to destroying fixed facilities like wells and processing facilities, we’ve destroyed nearly 400 of ISIL’s oil tanker trucks, reducing a major source of its daily revenues. There’s more to come, too.” Is that so? Where’s the proof, buster? Where’s the photos? Remember, it was you guys that said you had satellite photo evidence of Russian military forces invading Ukraine back about a year ago now. Yeah, remember that? So where’s the proof of this? You guys brag and show endless footage of all kinds of crap you’ve done. You even have footage from “America’s Funniest Atomic Bomb Videos” taken during World War Two. So where’s the gun-cam footage of these soirees? Where’s the satellite footage of ISIS oil tankers going up like Roman candles? Come on, man, I’m not buying it.

Putin said he believed “…the decision to shoot down our plane was dictated by the desire to protect the oil supply lines to Turkish territory, right to the ports where it is loaded onto tankers.” Our grand poobah President Obama said, “I want to be very clear: Turkey is a NATO ally. The US supports Turkish rights to defend itself and its airspace and its territory.” Now, Obama said he wants Russia and Turkey to stop arguing over Turkey’s act of war against Russia and concentrate on fighting ISIS. Excuse me, but that is what Russia was doing when Turkey shot down their plane, genius! See a pattern here? This is like Three Card Monte. The house always wins.

Let’s recap. We’re sending more troops in a very eerie pattern reminiscent of the Vietnam War. ISIS oil is making some people extremely rich and that much is obvious. To digress a moment, has anyone recalled that running an oil refinery and transporting the finished product takes highly skilled technicians and infrastructure? And that selling this rather large, liquid product means OTHER COUNTRIES BUY IT??? This all isn’t like selling stolen diamonds. Other countries are obviously involved and someone protects this oil in transit. It has to be moving through a country that borders Syria. Hmmm…who could that be? Putin told us. And who is backing the so-called “right” of Turkey to shoot down a Russian aircraft?

It’s getting stranger and stranger. It would seem they’ve invented the perfect cover story: They need to get ISIS. And if some black market oil changes hands and some people make money, hey, whaddya gonna do, right?
