The United States of Hipsters
Map shows how the young and trendy of America are migrating to the Midwest... and New York doesn't even make the list

These cities are so hipster, you probably haven’t even heard of them.
A new study by FindTheHome has ranked the top hipster cities in the US, and the results show a shift away from big coastal communities like Brooklyn and Los Angeles’ Silver Lake in favor of Ames, Iowa, and Auburn, Alabama.
The real estate search engine narrowed down the top 19 hipster communities based on cities with a population over 50,000 that also have a large number of residents between the ages of 20 and 34 who have at least a Bachelor’s degree.
They also looked for other tell-tale signs of a hipsterdom: cafes and yoga studios.
