VITA Products Herring Now Adulterated with High Fructose Corn Syrup

I’ve been eating Vita herring for at least 65 years, and I’m sorry to say that the company has joined the poison parade by now substituting high fructose corn syrup for sugar in its pickled herring. I’ve been on the phone to the company, and their rep tells me that they have kept the old product on in their “Perfect Catch” brand. Try to find it! It’s a catch-22.

Studies show that high fructose corn syrup consumption is associated with higher rates of diabetes and with a deterioration of brain function in mice.

I have found over the years that companies quietly adulterate their products with high fructose corn syrup. One must check up constantly because they sneak it in. Most supermarkets have long aisles that, to me, are vast wastelands. I get a kick out of it when the companies claim “Original Recipe” on many products and the ingredient list includes additives and fructose that never were in their original recipe. They lie.
