Upcoming Debates for Walter Block

Tomorrow night (dinner at 6pm, program at 7pm), Saturday, 5/21/11, I will be debating Herb Grubel on limited government minarchism versus free market anarchism. The venue: Cheers Restaurant, 125 East 2 Street, North Vancouver, BC, Canada (604) 985-9192. I plan on converting Herb to the One True Faith. So, if you’re in the neighborhood, c’mon down. Herb is an emeritus professor of economics at Simon Fraser University, and a long time associate of the (conservative) Fraser Institute.

Here’s advanced notice on a debate I’ll be doing in the fall in St. Louis, MO on Tuesday, 10/4/11, at 7pm. I’ll be debating my coauthor Four Arrows (a native Indian progressive liberal activist). Here’s some info on the event: Emmet J. and Mary Martha Doerr Center for Social Justice Education and Research, School of Social Work, St. Louis University; “Differing Worldviews in Higher Education: Two Scholars Cooperatively Argue about Justice Education” contact: Anna Sandidge, [email protected]. Here’s info on our co-authored book: Four Arrows (aka Don Trent Jacobs) and Walter E. Block. 2010. Differing Worldviews in Higher Education: Two Scholars Argue Cooperatively about Justice Education; Rotterdam, The Netherlands: Sense Publishers.

Social justice, you might say? Give me a break. Hey, we’re often accused of speaking only to the choir. I guarantee that this will not be true in this case. The audience will likely not be libertarian at all. So, if you’re around St. Louis on that date, please consider joining us.
