The NY Times Smears the Pope (Again)

As Pavlov might have predicted, the New York Times gleefully continues its smears of the Pope and the Catholic Church. And, as it did in the Duke Lacrosse Case, the Slimes publishes “facts” that are questionable, and uses sources that are even more suspect.

William McGurn in the Wall Street Journal has a good piece today in which he points out that the Slimes’ source in its latest missive was none other than the trial lawyer who has made millions of dollars suing the Church. Not surprisingly, the lawyer leaves out some important details, but, then, we know that the Slimes is not interested in the truth.

The NYT has a narrative that not only affects its editorials but also its news stories, and LRC readers are quite familiar with the paper’s statism, its hatred of anything Christian, and its willingness to lie. Yes, this is a scandal for the Roman Catholic Church, but there are many aspects which the Slimes will not tell readers, since some of those facts contradict the paper’s narrative, and nothing — nothing — can be permitted to do that, and especially not the truth.
