I caught the following New York Times headline at a news stand this morning: “Cantor Loss May Ensure Paralysis in Congress.”
Oh, the humanity! Cantor’s defeat, says the Times, is responsible for “setting off a new wave of fear” that may “stymie policymaking.” Yeah, right. “Fear” that government will “only” grow at 20 percent/year instead of 20.1 percent. This, says the Times, could lead to a “gridlocked capital,” default, and a “polarized city.”
