A reader takes me to task for my recent blog posting on churches and Christians in Saudi Arabia…
Saudis would do well to embrace this fact….. Really. What are you going to do if they don’t? Have Israel bomb them???
No. I’m merely suggesting that Saudi Arabia could significantly improve its image internationally, if those who rule Saudi Arabia are concerned about this, by acknowledging the fact the country and its religious history are more interesting than they state publicly. As it stands, Rome and Riyadh are negotiating the construction of a Catholic church.
But it’s up to the Saudis what they do, and whether they acknowledge the reality of churches and Christian worship in the kingdom.
