The IRS is demanding that Swiss banks give it information as it seeks to grab all the money it can from anywhere it can. Of course, what happens if the Swiss refuse this intrusion into their sovereignty?

The U.S. government is trying to cooperate with the Swiss government and the bank, Deputy Assistant Attorney General John DiCicco said. But he added, “We are prepared to seek enforcement if that process is not successful.”

No doubt, the Bush/Cheney administration might want to divert a few divisions from its illegal war in Iraq in order to invade these recalcitrant Swiss who dare protect financial privacy. Maybe the IRS will put a lien on all of Switzerland. Stay tuned as the U.S. Governments “seeks enforcement.”
