Going To War For Your Kids?

ABC News ran a report tonight about the 12 thousand children whose parents have been injured in the recent wars. I am always baffled by the reasoning that the parents use to justify their involvement in the armed force. We hear about how they are protecting our freedoms and helping their families stay safe. Yet those parents leave their families after all; they are breaking the family unit –perhaps irreparably if the children are young. The cost, is it argued, is necessary. But is it? Are you willing to risk leaving your kids father or motherless for your country?

If your number one priority is really your family, then how can you justify leaving for several years? All those lost moments, all those lost birthdays, all that lost life
