Laurence: Every impressionable kid who is giving thought to joining the military should first visit a veterans’ hospital, as well as reading about how more soldiers are dying by suicide than in combat! Perhaps parents, with their superficial “love” for their children, should spend more time acquainting their offspring with these consequences of warfare, and less time wondering who will be on this week’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
