In February the students’ union at the University of Ulster passed a motion demanding that my status as emeritus professor be rescinded because my publications documenting race and sex differences in intelligence might be hurtful to minorities and women. In March, the vice-chancellor informed me that the University had acceded to this demand. I believe this is the only time an emeritus professor has had his title revoked and so I have achieved a unique distinction.
