The Lesser Evil

The few people whom I met on First Tuesday were proudly wearing that little sticky thing, “I Have Voted” on their chests, publicly declaring absolute ignorance.

Goddam, why couldn't they have just ignored the whole thing?

I am exceedingly sick of hearing that stupid crap about having to vote for the lesser evil. May they roast in Hell for their stupidity.

If only 10-million of those idiots who used that excuse to vote for crooks had voted for liberty, the earth would have shuddered and all evil things smoked.

The Democrat Phony almost won, even though he repeatedly promised to carry out the existing plan.

The Warrior King kept his crown, in spite of his unquestionable responsibility for the 9/11 massacre and an aggressive war against a sand-blasted shit-pot, which could easily result in a forever war punctuated by teeny little suitcase-size metropolitan-melting nukes. Or worse.

How many votes were cast for Liberty? I haven't even tried to find out. Why not? Because I'm used to it… after almost 30 years no further evidence is needed.

Several years ago, I sent a letter to the National Libertarian Party. I advised them to stop wasting their time and scarce funds trying to convert Republicans, especially the Conservative ones. (I call them “Confused Conservatives.”) It was full of funny stuff, as always, because that's the way I am. Or is “peculiar” the right word?

I told them that Democrats were much more likely to convert than Republicans. The reason I gave was that Republicans subliminally view their party as a football team, of which they themselves are an integral part and would gladly go to Hell before they would even consider not voting a straight ticket at every opportunity. (All Republicans always vote.) Of course, they view otherwise as tantamount to cheering for the other team. There are many, many Democrats who act the same way, but the fervor just isn't there to the extent of Team Republican and, comparatively speaking, the Democrats are quite open-minded and have less concern about other people's business.

To convert Democrats is very easy. Just tell them that the Republicans actually are, as always believed, crooks. Then, tell them exactly how they do their crookedness, and give them a very short lesson in free-market economics; why and how it is the best thing that can happen to any poor man. Wind up by stating that the Republicans always have and always will use the force of government to thwart the free market, rob the treasury and keep the downtrodden in their place.

The advantage of this tactic is plain truth.

The history of the Republican Party is well-known by older people of the South.

Oh, yes. Be sure to remind them that the Jeffersonian Democrats always were suspicious of government, thanks in large part to the Almighty Mass-Murderer and Destroyer of States' Rights; yes, the Original Republican and pseudo-god, Abraham Lincoln. (The only politician uglier than Kerry, incidentally.)

Republican He-Hoss Senator Strom Thurmond failed in his run for President in 1948 as the States Rights Party candidate. He finally gave up and converted to Republican, carrying with him a lot of defective Southerners who believed, or pretended to believe that Conservatism was the way to go and that the Republican Party was the better vehicle for their own political advancement. The heart of Conservatism is War and Moral Legislation, the twin foundations of totalitarianism.

That is how it came to pass that absolutely no serious differences between the Democrat and Republican parties exist. The Super-Duper Powers-that-be rule the lot of them. War is their favorite strategy to keep control of lesser beings (they are farming us, as a great libertarian once said). Haven't you noticed that the poor and ignorant among us (that once included me, for a time) are the ones who are drafted or actually enlist in the military, mostly for an easy, disciplined, guaranteed life and retirement; even though they might be called upon to go 10,000 miles away to kill and be killed? The odds on that are in their favor though, since the illegal military is so bloated. Few of the survivors ever figure out, or even want to figure out, the puzzle of the big picture.

Today, the shamefulness of it all has been made clear. The Great Religious Warrior has been re-elected.

What a scam is war. The victims proudly cheer the deaths of their own children. Heroes, they call them, because the ignorance and horror are too great for them to see what is really going on. Should we have pity or contempt?

I choose pity.

Contempt is just too Republican.
