To trace a salmonella outbreak, the CDC asked permission from affected shoppers to access their shopper data. This proved highly effective. The next step is mandatory access, which could be favored by a majority. As one person said: “I don’t have any secrets, so I’m not worried about it,” he said. “It’s kind of like the whole airport security and all that. I’d rather fly on a safe plane.”
