The Francis Wayland Institute
October 1, 2005
I would like to announce the beginning of the Francis Wayland Institute. The Francis Wayland Institute exists for the purpose of propagating and defending the ideals of Christianity, liberty, property, and peace. It is not a Bible institute. And neither is it a college, seminary, correspondence school, or a school of any kind. The Francis Wayland Institute is a think tank in the intellectual tradition of the nineteenth-century Baptist minister Francis Wayland (1796-1865). The Institute is dedicated to making available books and articles that uphold the ideals of Christianity, liberty, property, and peace.
The website is still in its early stages. More information will soon be added about Francis Wayland and the Institute.
Laurence M. Vance [send him mail] writes from central Florida. He is the author of The Free Society; War, Christianity, and the State: Essays on the Follies of Christian Militarism; War, Empire, and the Military: Essays on the Follies of War and U.S. Foreign Policy; King James, His Bible, and Its Translators, and many other books. His newest book is The U.S. Proxy War in Ukraine.
