Speaking of Pentagrams

Lew, it always troubled me that the Medal of Honor, first awarded in 1862, is made in the shape of a pentagram. While the pentagram was not always a symbol of Satan, today it represents overt Satanism. So, I guess it makes sense that the pentagram medal replaces the cross as the pinnacle medal. After all, 1862 marked the beginning of satanic total warfare, completely unchecked by the moral authority invoked by the cross under the relatively limited warfare during the ages of Christendom.

Update: Looks like the cross had a run at the Medal of Honor. In 1919 a Maltese Cross was a medal option for the Navy, but it was scrapped due to lack of popularity. Makes sense, Satan never liked competition.
