How Does the US Government End?
August 11, 2013
I’ve suggested that the US government be dissolved, and so people ask me how this can be done. George S. Patton has my answer:
“Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do, and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.”
One possible direction is through a state or two exercising its powers. Between 1789 and 1860, there was an understanding of constitutional principles to support such exercises. The Civil War was an aberration in the Constitution. That war took the Constitution out of its orbit. The intellectual and historical propagation of myths in support of the federal government has been one-sided ever since. Another direction is to break the hold of those myths. Men live by myths.
