Banned in Baltimore

April 7, 2011

Ron Smith of WBAL Radio in Baltimore has a weekly column in the Friday Baltimore Sun. To his listeners this is nothing less than miraculous since Maryland politicians tend to be far to the left of the third-world socialist who occupies the White House, and the Sun is essentially the propaganda rag of the state Democratic Party. There are apparently enough conservatives and libertarians within the Sun’s readership, however, to justify Ron’s column on an economic basis. But not for tomorrow’s column, which was rejected for being just too, too politically incorrect. He actually makes a positive remark about Pat Buchanan, which proved to be intolerable to the Sun’s editors. So, rather than creating a forum for debate of a contentious issue, which would probably sell a lot more papers, they choose politically-correct censorship instead.
