Approximately half a million Iraqis are dead as a result of George Bush and his patriotic soldiers waging war on Iraq to avenge 9-11 and other nonsense, according to the latest findings that provide the most up-to-date estimates of the death toll of the Iraq war and subsequent conflict. And most Americans don’t give a damn. Over 4,000 American soldiers died in bringing this about–died in vain and for a lie.
Cursed be George Bush, every congressman who voted for war appropriations, and every armchair warrior, red-state fascist, reich-wing nationalist, bloodthirsty conservative, theocon Values Voter, American-exceptionalist neocon, war-crazed Republican, Democrat and Progressive warmonger, God and country Christian bumpkin, Christian Coalition moralist, evangelical warvangelical, Catholic just war theorist, merchant of death, and imperial Christian who supported the Iraq War. And, of course, every U.S. soldier who invaded and occupied Iraq, for you can’t have a war without soldiers.
My thoughts on the Iraq war are collected in a chapter of my new book War, Empire, and the Military: Essays on the Follies of War and U.S. Foreign Policy.4:36 pm on January 19, 2014
