An As Yet Unanswered Question

August 6, 2012

I recently ran across a quotation in which a prominent economist, professor, and former FED official opined that the American public would find the gold standard (undefined) “completely unacceptable.” I asked him if he had made that remark,  and he replied one day later that he had. I then sent another e-mail to him on July 29th. After some preliminary clarifying remarks about impediments like taxes, private minting issues, legal tender for FED notes, and counterfeiting issues, I asked him:

So, would you be willing to put your claim to a market test? Would you confidently be willing to remove the legal obstacles and impediments to silver and gold?”

It’s now 8 days later, and I’m still waiting for an answer.
