Writes Jay Stephenson:
I am yet to call myself a Trump supporter because I’m waiting to see who his VP pick will be, but I do get flak from libertarians for even the possibility of supporting him because of his “strongman” personality. In response to them, I think Chris Cantwell makes the best point.
After what happened in Chicago and California, it has become all too clear that we cannot co-exist with communist welfare parasites. I am a non-interventionist, but I am not a pacifist. We are in a second civil war in this country, albeit it is mostly a cold war. And it’s a war we can’t afford to lose.
Trump is not a libertarian. Think of him as Don Corleone in the first scene of The Godfather when he was approached by another member of his community who had exhausted all other options to find justice for a horrible crime committed against his daughter. Trump is most likely our last option at this point.
