The roof of Notre-Dame de Paris.

Analysing the structure and its destruction on April 15, 2019.

Writes Wes Baker:

Lew,

A solid German engineer, who I’ve followed for years on Youtube.  And he’s a good craftsman!  Everything you’ve wanted to know about Notre Dame’s roof’s construction and more!

Want to know ingenuity?  All of those beams, jointed or whole, were wrestled upon primitive cranes winches, and later, in the 1860’s, on structural bearing cranes.

Makes my youthful, barn raising days look like Jenga!
