The Republican Liberty Caucus ran their straw poll in odd fashion. You could vote for more than one candidate to approve as a possible nominee. Given that, isn’t Rand’s 57% low? As I understand it, he could have gotten 97% approval, and not affected Cruz’s 51%. Or Ben’s, Carly’s, and Donald’s lower scores. But here’s what is really startling: 51% of the “libertarian wing” of the GOP in NH is OK with a crazed warmongering, Wall Street crony neocon. Ted Cruz is smart, eloquent, and charming. But his whole history is despicable, not including his temporary shifts for this election. How could any libertarian, even a Republican, be for him?
