Talking Down to the Supremes

Writes Brian Dunaway:

I looked at the clock, and it was sixteen minutes after the hour, the hour by which the president’s presence was supposed to be announced to the congressional chamber. I thought, “Maybe the drugs haven’t kicked in yet.” Then, he arrived after those sixteen minutes, followed by an epic meandering to the podium. It was around half-past the hour before the president got started with his address.

Among his numerous encounters through the throng of sycophants, before he reached the presidential podium, were the members of the Supreme Court of The United States of America. I noted that when the president greeted members of the Court, he only greeted the federal abortion enthusiasts. This was a bad enough insult (and public gesture), but …

During his speech, he took particular delight in looking down from his podium at the SCOTUS, reprimanding them, and reminding them that the people will once again reign supreme, achieving legislation for universal abortion rights (the Holy Grail of the Death Cult). It was a sickening spectacle, as the members of the SCOTUS traditionally practice stoicism during every SOTU, neither clapping nor exhibiting any overt reaction whatsoever to the words of the POTUS. So, they could only sit in passive silence as they were attacked (worse, dismissed) in front of the entire nation. I audibly groaned at this moment.

I was surprised that during the MSNBC fawning post-address coverage, it was noted that the “attack” (not my words, theirs) was “unprecedented.” Of course, the MSNBC nihilists seemed to offer enthusiastic approval.

Thusly, President Biden piles onto the zeitgeist regarding the Supreme Court, being that it is utterly politicized, and not worth any consideration or respect whatsoever.

Regarding the zeitgeist, the Supreme Court’s decision on the Colorado court’s attempt to keep Trump off the ballot was widely anticipated to be unanimous in favor of Trump (as it ended up being), as the Colorado court’s arguments were in a word, silly. Nevertheless, the likes of Stephen Colbert, during his nightly Two Minutes Hate, ridiculed the Court for its cowardly unanimous decision. His half-wit minions roar their approval: “BOOOOOOOH, BOOOOOOOH, BOOOOOOOH.”

Zeitgeist is one thing, but for the sitting president to dismiss the third branch of government with such contempt during the SOTU invites the demise of the union, in ways likely.
