Writes a Daniel J. Cohn:
Unsurprising, of course. This is just short of a full redux of the 1930s’ unified effort to suppress (read: kill) the anarchists in Catalonia for the sin of self-determination. Also: the Western media’s silence on all of this is to be expected. And condemned.
I’m reminded of Orwell’s description of his time fighting in the Spanish Civil War: “There was much in this that I did not understand, in some ways I did not not even like it, but I recognized it immediately as a state of affairs worth fighting for.” (Orwell, Homage to Catalonia).
