Sobran was a master of prose.  He was up there with Malcolm Muggeridge.  No one else was.

When I read one of his essays, I am always ready to appropriate something in the name of The People.  Such as this:

Some people think you can take Christ’s “teachings” and ignore his miracles as if they were fables. But this is to confuse the Sermon on the Mount with the Democratic Party platform.
