Writes Gary Turpanjian:
Hi Lew,
Some years ago, the widow of an assassinated Turkish-Armenian writer, Hrant Dink, was invited to speak to an audience that, by and large, favored efforts to urge world governments to officially recognize the Armenian genocide. As I recall, Mrs. Dink asked some thought provoking questions: “What if the governments decline to recognize the genocide? Would that mean that it didn’t happen?” Naturally, of course not.
I fear that those who build their castles on the whimsical sands of official pronouncements are likely to find themselves forever disappointed, and used.
