Trump won Arizona, and 58 delegates. Cruz won Utah in a landslide and 40 delegates. Oh, and along with Willard’s odd endorsement, Cruz scored Jeb’s even odder one. Even more important, Glenn Beck proclaimed Cruz the fulfillment of Joseph Smith’s prophecy.

Being a Mormon myself, I can tell you people were saying the same thing about Mitt Romney being the one to fulfill Joseph Smith’s prophecy in both 2008 and 2012. It’s embarrassing.

I’m a Mormon, too, and I can tell you that Ted Cruz being the fulfillment of the prophecy seems unlikely, since it says that the elders of the LDS Church will rise up and save the Constitution, not some Southern Baptist like Cruz, whose Southern Baptist Convention has officially denounced the LDS Church as a non-Christian cult. Also, it’s not entirely clear that, according to the original meaning of the Constitution, Cruz is even eligible to be President.
