Writes Mark Higdon:
Lew, many decades ago, as an undergraduate, I studied English and Theatre Arts. In the former major, I learned the language and how to use it accurately. In the latter minor, I learned how to apply the language to drama and comedy. Across the studies of both disciplines, the seeds of healthy cynicism were sown. I intend to spend Tuesday evening with my wife bingeing on shows and movies that we choose to watch. We will retire to bed knowing no “results” from the day’s–and its predecessors’–political theatre. We will wake up Wednesday morning and learn the status-quo–whatever that might be—reaffirming that our attention thereto over the past 24 hours made no difference.
