Writes Andrew Ward:
Lew,
The fact that President Trump would see the U.S. government as his business may actually be a beneficial thing for the country. It sounds potentially corporatist but if he’s going to behave like a steward at the executive level he’d have the long term view of the government and stop wasting so many lives and dollars on short term misadventures. Most importantly, this includes a lot less expensive and deadly foreign wars and interventions.
How Trump would reign reminds me of Hoppe’s view that monarchic rule actually treats the kingdom as an asset as opposed to a public piggy bank by politicians in a democracy. Trump’s “ownership” of the public fund also reminds me a little bit of business people in a more decentralized anarchistic system being incentivized to be diplomatic and not spend tons of money on the war with rivals.
Speaking of decentralization, I hope that progressives who are disgusted by King Trump’s more obtuse statements and broad generalizations of social groups realize the errors of centralization and decide that secession is the way to go.
