Out-of-work actors were paid to attend the Trump announcement, and though heavily criticized, that move seems no worse than the normal meal-transportation–campaign goodies offered to supporters by regular candidates. Note: Ron Paul never had to do any of this to draw a big crowd, of course. But what is not mentioned is that the actors turned out to be superfluous. Thousands of people attended the Trump event on their own. But CNN refused to show the crowd.
