Good News for a Change!

Writes Greg Privette:

Hi Lew,

I saw the Becky Akers blog about the state of Michigan cutting off the water and electricity to the NSA. As she stated it is somewhat symbolic since there are no (known) NSA facilities there. But if I recall a state senator in Utah proposed something similar while the NSA was building their new, massive, data center there. He was unsuccessful at the time and I haven’t seen anything about it since but it was at least an attempt and would have had far more than symbolic effect. The Utah initiative also had legitimate environmental justification since that data center uses massive amounts of water which is a very scarce commodity in the west. And of course we all know how much the government loves the environment.
