Garrison Keillor’s Last Show of The Prairie Home Companion
May 28, 2026
Writes Tim McGraw:
I was surprised to learn that Keillor’s last show was from the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. I was also surprised that President Obama, in July of 2016, called into the show to tell Keillor that when Obama was a young politician in Illinois, he would listen to Prairie Home Companion as he drove from Chicago to Springfield and back again.
.
I liked the show as well and would often listen to Prairie Home Companion when I lived in Edmonds, WA. I also enjoyed reading Keillor’s books. They cheered me up and reminded me of my childhood in Minnesota in the 1950s.
