For our mental health: do not read signs

Writes a friend:

Lew, since the beginning of the TSA, I have conscientiously objected to signage. I simply ignore all signs, placards, intonements, and barks.

I never, ever read signs that governments plaster all over our spaces, post offices, schools, airports, courthouses, office buildings, etc.

Instead, I use my above average common sense and go forward until a government agent questions me, which is rare.

Recently, I entered a government building to inquire about a service for farmers. I vaguely registered a sign on the front door that read, “Must wear mask”.

I confidently entered the building, head up and a smile on my unobscured face. As the two lady receptionists were out for the day, the director greeted me instead. His face was dutifully covered in a homemade green and yellow cloth Face Covering™️, which looked like some well-meaning woman had made for him.

He and I concluded our chat, I gathered the information I wanted, and we said our pleasant goodbyes.

He never said anything to me about a mask.

Signs be damned!!!
