This is a significant development in the demise of mainstream media, IMHO. The AfD in North Rhine-Westphalia (the most populous German state) wants to bar journalists from their party convention.

The reason they give is that SJW have previously smuggled themselves into AfD conventions and filmed people extensively and posted those films on the internet, “exposing” AfD members and supporters and endangering them because of SJW induced violence.

But the underlying trend is more significant: It used to be the case that political parties practically begged the media to come to their party conventions. The mainstream parties probably still do. It’s free advertisement form them. But the AfD, which only gets smeared by the mainstream media, sees no need for free of charge “promotion” from the dying press. The internet makes mainstream media more and more superfluous.
