You Cannot Rely on Government

This moment is an opportunity to get across the idea that you cannot rely upon government for anything, not for health, wealth, security, safety, defense, food, toilet paper, rights, a place of worship, rational action, your welfare – anything.

How reliable is a government that quarantines healthy people rather than sick ones?

How trustworthy and effective is a government that intentionally throws millions and millions of people out of work?

How beneficial is a government that multiplies debt burdens to such levels that they can only be paid off by incredibly high taxes that burden you and your children and grandchildren, with no corresponding long-lasting benefits?

How secure does a government make you that endangers its promises of Social Security and Medicare by enormous new borrowing?

How trustworthy is a government whose monetary agency breaks the law and rewards its favorites by illegal bailouts?

What security did government provide for vulnerable people in nursing homes?

What health did government provide by forbidding and disrupting remedies that have some value?

What sense did governments display by closing down numerous service businesses under the guise that they are not essential?

How mindful were governments of your right to work and move about?

How much reliance can you place on the judgments of government officials who closed schools and vastly disrupted the lives of many millions of children and youngsters when COVID-19 holds almost no dangers for young people?

How sound are governments that close down open spaces like parks and beaches in which people can get the fresh air and sunshine they need for healthy immune systems to work well?

How reliable is a government’s major public health agency that latches onto a terribly flawed and inadequate model to make dire and false death projections, causing panic in many quarters?

How reliable are such agencies that vastly exaggerate ordinary flu deaths?

How reliable are such agencies in securing your health that intentionally miscount deaths from COVID-19?

How can anyone think governments are reliable that close down parking near churches or fine churchgoers?

How sensible and reliable are governments that prevent restaurants from offering takeout services or even outdoor tables 10-feet apart?

How can any government be trusted that amplifies an epidemic, which is bad enough, into a major catastrophic event or “emergency”?

How can any government be relied upon that violates multiple amendments to the Constitution for an event not worse than prior health events that were also at least as deadly?

How can a government be relied upon that meets a health challenge by closing down the lifeblood of a society, its economy?

How can you trust a government in which a major party turns an epidemic into an opportunity to pass its favorite items, like aid to illegals and voting by mail?

This list is all too brief. It omits more than it contains. The instances of government’s misdeeds attached solely to this virus episode must surely fill a book.
