Yet another Bush Justification for the War
George Bush now has another reason to continue the war: Because more than 1,800 have died. This is another rendition of the “we cannot let them have died in vain” argument used to continue the Vietnam War. When dealing with the issue of “sunk costs,” I use the Vietnam example as a reason why NOT to continue a war. Bush is not worried about the memory of those who died; he is worried about the political futures of those who are in office.
