WWIII: The Second Year

The War on Freedom, a.k.a., COVIDiocy, threatens to mimic the Feds’ other conflicts and last forever. Fascinatingly, it has usurped other Marxist preoccupations, including environmentalism; as our Canadian correspondent, David Maharaj comments, “Since these masks are causing immense environmental degradation, I await with bated breath for Greta Thunberg to denounce these face diapers. How dare you!”

Meanwhile, Patriots continue stoutly opposing this eternal, ridiculous, and cruel war.

Bill Martin, for example,

never wear[s] a mask around town in Midland, TX – even when our poor excuse for a “conservative” governor had his unconstitutional “mandate” in place.   I always walk right past the “diaper required” sign and have only been challenged twice by a minimum-wage door guard you could tell didn’t like or agree with their job.  Both times, I said “no” and promptly left – never to return.  I’ll spend my money elsewhere.  I’d say there was about 50% overall compliance even when the edict was in place.  All of the restaurants and bars where I dine have near zero compliance – except for the poor bartenders who are required to wear them by their employer.  Even they usually wear the diaper as a chin-strap most of the time, anyway.

Yeehaw! May such rebellion flourish!

And may it spread to San Antonio, from whence Ginny reports:

Since there’s no longer a mask mandate in Texas [my daughter] and I decided to go to breakfast Saturday at IHOP.  Would you believe – it was crowded and everyone waiting for a table was wearing a mask.  People sitting quietly, not laughing or talking, like zombies.  I found it creepy.  Told [my daughter] I’d like to have breakfast at home, which we did.  Now I’m wondering – are lots of people deciding they LIKE wearing masks? Do they get a feeling of privacy – no one to read their expressions and guess what they’re thinking?  No angry confrontations or stupid misunderstandings?  Not much communication going on between mask wearers. This is the first national catastrophe i can remember that instead of unifying the American people has torn them apart – made them fearful of each other.  If this was intentional it was cleverly done

We next head to Florida, where Scott says:

….once Texas “opened up”, the culture did not change.  People stayed the same, and businesses are horrible.

It has been the same in FL.  No state mandate, but businesses insist on employees being masked (of course a few exceptions).  Mask signs are on 98% of business doors.

“Politics is downstream of culture”.  The culture allowed and encouraged the lockdowns and masks.  The culture itself is Marxist, and so approved of Marxist shenanigans.

Now, our son Matthew’s company in OKC has stated that in order to return to the building, one has to be vaccinated.  Matthew was appalled.  He and others are appealing this.

But again, OK has no state mask mandate!  Culture rules.  30 years of Marxist ideology in the classrooms will not change overnight.

So, we press on.  As a Temp I was allowed to wear a clear face shield at the Walmart in which I worked.  It is the kind of shield that attaches like a pair of glasses.  Plenty of air flow, and people could see my face.  (I would not have agreed to working with a mask.)

It is hardest on the blue-collar worker.  White collar workers who work out of their homes just don’t know what it’s like.

The change is going to have to be the customers themselves who walk in mask-free (which I do all the time).  They are the ones with the purchasing power and the most freedom.

(Business owners seem to have such fear…fear of someone accusing them of catching “covid” at their store…?  Fear of someone not shopping because the unmasked are welcome at their store?)

Yet, still 97% of customers were masked in the 11 days that I was a Temp at Walmart.  It was always a joy to see the unmasked.  I wish they knew the influence they had.

Heading north in Florida, Juan Despierto and his family

live … near the Georgia border in a small city/mid-sized town, the only blue county around here(not that I give much credence to the red/blue artificially created divide).

Many people here have been corona crazy(masks everywhere, and verbal assaults on freebreathers(especially women)) since last March, but just a couple of counties over with similar population sizes there are hardly any masks and a whole different vibe when you go to their neck of the woods. That is refreshing.

…I have only donned a mask one time, to satisfy a special request for my son’s 13th birthday. 99% of stores here have signs saying masks are required and 99% of customers are wearing masks, except at hardware stores where the freebreather percentage is more like 30%. I just walk in maskless with confidence and do my shopping and rarely have an issue. I make a point to smile and talk to people. If someone is hostile I have found that what kills them most is when you are polite to them. They have no strategy to defeat that.

And a tourist passing through the Sunshine State recounts that she and her husband

were in the Publix market here. I look ahead to see a lovely young woman pushing a beautiful toddler in her grocery cart–both with “naked” faces. I caught her eye and she mine–and we grinned at each other. As we passed, we smiled again. A few minutes later, don’t you know, we all pass each other again. This time, she makes the hand swipe over her face as she says to me, “I really like your face.” I laughed and said, “I really love your face,” making the same gesture.

We ended up having an extended conversation. She says that no one in her family wears a mask–and her father is militant about it. :):) She says that everyone in her family got “it”, but they still won’t wear masks and don’t think anyone should! She has three children who all go to a small private school–and none of her children or the other students wear masks. We exchanged contact information, and I have a feeling we’ll surely be in touch again.

We’re out here–we just need to find each other.

…we have shopped in Publix multiple times, always mask-free. Not a single person has said a word. We always engage with the check-out person–always with a smile and hello. They’ve all been very friendly and responsive back. We have been to multiple restaurants. We have seen situations where some of the staff wear them and others where only some do so. Same with the patrons.

We had lunch out and talked to our lovely server. She is completely on board with the stupidity of masks–and she hates having to wear hers. She said it makes breathing difficult, it makes her sweat, and gives her a headache. Also a strong 2nd Amendment advocate–23 years young.

…We went to a very nice restaurant (white tablecloth) last week. Our server was delightful. Early on, I spoke up and told him that my “heart breaks to see you have to wear that on your face.” In shock, he looked at me, putting his hand over his heart and in a soft Southern accent replied, “Ma’am, you have no idea how much you have touched my heart. Do you know that you’re the only person who has ever said anything like that to me? Bless your heart.”

Mark Carroll opines that

Crossroads of the West puts on the best gun shows. … They usually hold one about six times a year in Phoenix, a couple other locations in Arizona, and a few in surrounding states. … I haven’t been to one in a while because they required masks. They probably had to do that because it’s held at the AZ State Fairgrounds.

But this year, their poster advises, “Face masks are strongly recommended but will not be required.”

Join Mark in cheering, “Woo hoo!” at that!

In Michigan, Steve

got “Karened” this morning at UPS Store by some old bat who called me selfish for not wearing a mask. She came right up to me, social distancing be damned. I did not engage, just said “that’s great”. She stormed out in a huff. No point in trying to reason with these lunatics. Unbelievable to me what the maskholes are capable of!! Still one of the only unmasked people out in public places. Not thinking this craziness will ever end … The world has gone mad. All that ever really matters is GOD which helps me cope.

One of LRC’s readers witnessed

….a first for me but I suppose others have seen it:  A baby in a high chair with a mask on, apparently with his clueless grandmother.  Not a toddler mind you, but younger.  Saw this at a Whole Foods dining area – in where else ?  California.  Whole Foods is the epitome of masked madness where a designated mask enforcer will pounce upon you if you dare to enter their store without a mask.  I have always been able to shop there (there are a few items that are of better quality at Whole Foods vs other grocery stores in the area) as the lone one without a mask, but having tired of explaining my need to breathe I now shop online at WF, and have a masked moronic employee deliver my order to a designated parking place for order pickup.  All my other grocery shopping is done at a market not far away where there is also 99.9 % mask compliance, but those store employees will not confront shoppers without masks.  I have only once been confronted and that was way back in the beginning of this masked madness.

Also – every morning I work out at a local independent facility – not a chain mask enforcer like 24 Hour Fitness, Lifetime, or other wimpy large corporation.  I have never worn a mask there although the owner puts up the obligatory sign so he isn’t raided by the local tyrants.  And it is inspiring to have seen more and more patrons ditching the masks.  I like to think I helped in my little way in moving the needle in this direction.

So can we all, simply by showing our naked faces! Was protest ever easier?

But a lot more is needed to bring our world back to liberty and sanity.  As the smaller businesses are squeezed out by the larger corporations with their government connections we serfs must continue to resist with everything at our disposal.  The recall of [California’s governor] Gruesome will be a good first step.  Contrary to what the media claims, Gruesome is not being recalled because he “mismanaged” the pandemic. He is being recalled because he is a Socialist Tyrant who has oppressed the populace with the closing of beaches, parks, restaurants, barber shops, and many other businesses, plunging California into a communistic-type dystopia with disgusting grungy downtown areas in virtually all major metropolises. … Serfs are fed up.  Good Riddance, Gruesome.

Jonathan Nielsen writes:

Our current wicked governor here in Utah, Spencer Cox, who replaced wicked Gary Herbert recently, says that on April 10th there will be no state-level mask mandate except for little children in schools. So the child abuse will continue, and counties and cities and businesses are still free to pretend masks do anything other than dehumanize everyone, deprive them of sufficient oxygen, and accumulate bacteria and make people more prone to illness.

As soon as he announced the upcoming removal of the mask mandate – because apparently he knows just what a virus will do weeks into the future and that it will cease to be a sufficient threat on that date – I saw a massive decline in mask compliance everywhere here. Instead of 80-90% mask wearing everywhere here in rural central Utah, it’s more like 60% compliance with many of those who do comply barely complying by keeping their masks well below their nose and sometimes below their mouths too (why bother?).

I had to take one of my kids to a dental appointment in a larger town in the Provo area. While she and my wife were there, I went to get an oil change. At the place I went not a single employee had a mask, there were no signs whatsoever about masks or Covid, and other customers sat in their lobby along with me, all of us maskless. It was great, I felt like it was 2019 again.

When I went back to the dental office, they say masks are required. I wore one well below my nose and they didn’t say anything. They make everyone wear one coming in, then you take it off when you are being worked on. It’s absurd, like the restaurant rules in many states.

Some old man came in on a motorized scooter. He had a US Navy cap on, and was obviously a World War II veteran. Someone was there to help him fill out paperwork, and he was hard of hearing. The person speaking to him was wearing a mask and eventually got fed up with not being understood by the old man due to the muffling of his voice, and he ripped the mask off. Finally the old man could hear him clearly.

There are still several businesses around (two grocery stores, a health food store, a restaurant, and a hardware store) that I know of that have never complied with mask mandates at all. But the resistance is so small. I’ve only worn a mask well below my nose at dental and doctor offices. They feel compelled to pretend Covid is super dangerous to all, and that masks work, and they always have plastic shields up, hand sanitizer everywhere, the works. I feel sorry for their employees who are there for long hours.

At Walmart and other stores around you never have to wear a mask even though they have a sign up. Nobody cares at all, and nobody ever says anything. After all, some percentage are exempt from the wicked governor’s orders anyway, as his order lists medical conditions whereby someone doesn’t have to wear one. Everyone everywhere should just assume that anyone not wearing one has a legitimate exemption. After all, it makes it so that nobody can get sufficient oxygen, so by the governor’s own orders everyone is exempt.

I worry about the small children the most. This is pure psychological abuse they’re being subjected to. The message is, “People will die and it will be your fault if you don’t wear your mask, and you might die too.” So evil. It’s pure pseudo-scientific terrorism from our sociopathic rulers.

Another member of LRC’s audience bemoans Leviathan’s double standards, which she illustrated with a video. The clip

was taken at the N[orth] C[arolina] General Assembly on March 31, 2021.  Groups were at the NC General Assembly on March 30, 2021, and saw lots of maskless faces.  Imagine the surprise.  Several from the group went back on March 31, 2021 to take video.

NC Governor Cooper is well aware that masks have been “optional” at the General Assembly despite his EO 180 containing a statewide mask mandate, which continued as EO 195, and remains in effect as EO 204.

NC remains under a “state of emergency.”

They are shameless.   They are “republicans,” and told the Governor that they wouldn’t wear a mask—ever.   We, of course, would be arrested.

Naturally. We’re only serfs.

Finally, in Colorado, Linda June

took Mom to a hair appointment at one of her favorite salons. She expected a bit of a hassle about a mask, and was prepared to hold one up to her face. But they told her that it would have to be hooked on her ears or they wouldn’t serve her. But hooking it is when the smothering starts, and if anyone has claim to a medical exemption, it’s my mom. Well, she refused to hook it, so they refused to cut her hair.

When I went to the door to help Mom back to the car, there were about 3 or 4 employees walking her out of the shop. I asked if they weren’t aware that the so-called mandate has medical exemptions. They said they knew that but the owners of the shop refused to honor them. So I said, “Shame on you. Shame on all of you!” They tried to justify themselves, but I just overrode them with more “shame on you’s.” (I was probably channeling a Polish-Canadian pastor, God bless him.)  I can no longer give any kind of quarter to the minions who enforce a store’s evil policy. They should just find a better place to work. After all, Hitler never killed a single Jew. His minions did it all. The excuse that they’re just following orders to keep a job isn’t valid. A sin is a sin whoever commits it.

Amen!

So much is at stake—much more than should be, especially in a country founded as ours was. Let all Patriots continue defying this evil and totalitarianism.
