“And the winner is . . . .”

I do not watch the Academy Awards ceremonies. Thus, I was not aware – until watching this morning’s news channels – of the erroneous awarding of the “best picture” Oscar to “LaLa Land,” and to the subsequent correction that showed the award had actually gone to the film “Moonlight.” Such a meaningless turmoil apparently reigned following the error. But why should anyone be surprised? The Hollywood establishment has been so unwilling to accept the outcome of a presidential election; why should we surprised that the winner of the Oscar election should also be rejected?
