Since Rep. Barney Frank has emerged as the point man in this whole bailout business, it seems to me that Republicans actually can claim some of the mantle of 1994 and let Frank and the Democrats carry the water. After all, the Democrats control both the House and Senate and control all of the committees, so if they think this is so important, then let them pass it. They have the votes.
