Why Do Liberals Hate Trump?

There’s a lot of accusations of Donald Trump. He’s accused of causing hatred by his remarks. Not really. He talks. It’s others who already have beliefs that generate the hate inside them. It’s not as if Trump is deserving of huge and pervasive hatred, like some horrible mass murderer from history. Obama and Trump might be in about the same class as far as murders go, although Trump has a ways to go to catch up with Obama’s role in Yemen and Syria. Bush and Cheney are much bigger murderers because of Iraq. So is Hillary Clinton because of Libya. People who cast Trump as Hitler or Mao or Stalin or Pol Pot are expressing something inside them, not inside Trump.

A large amount of hate is being expressed in America by the people who hate Trump. That’s their doing, not his. Trump’s rhetoric, in and of itself, isn’t any more hateful than Obama’s. Trump is not especially a man to hate, not unless there’s something inside you that supports your hating him.

Liberals see Trump as inflammatory because they are annoyed and they are reacting with hatred. Their hatred is out of normal bounds. This leads to the question: Why do liberals hate Trump? What is in them that’s reacting to a more or less normal man named Donald Trump who is not shy at expressing himself and who was elected president?

If you want answers in detail, then read this thoughtful article by Jesse Gomez dated December 11, 2017. Gomez has 25 answers or hypotheses. Some may be minor, and he omits some that are major. He does cover a lot of ground, however.

There are objective reasons to criticize Trump’s policies and presidency. The hatred of him during and after his election goes far beyond such normal criticism. It is a phenomenon not restricted to leftists. Many establishment Republicans feel the same way, but paper their hatred over.

I think that liberals like to present themselves as, well, socially liberal. They want people to look at them as blind to race, religion, sex, ethnicity, class, appearance, education, dress, etc. They want other people to see them as wonderful moral people who judge others by their character, not their “color”. They want to think of themselves the same way. Obama was their man, a signal of their virtue. They had elected a black man. No stronger signal could be sent of the wonderfulness of the liberal, unless it was to continue on to elect a woman next. They didn’t see that by zeroing in on the man’s race and the woman’s sex, regardless of their characters, they were belying their own supposedly virtuous morality. Trump and his victory upset their apple cart.

Liberals find new battlegrounds for expressing their righteousness: gender change, sexual harassment, sexual assault and open borders. There is a political agenda behind these pretensions of morality. There are political motives and quests that are purposely hidden from view as liberals portray themselves as virtuous and worthy of the powers of government. Liberal legislation, whether stemming from Democrats or Republicans or both, expresses the desire to control people and remake them. The inner urge is total control on a worldwide basis. Liberals would be happy to have a world government strong enough to prevent its subjects from escaping or deviating from control. Democracy is a ruse by which a clique of control freaks gains complete power. That’s the direction of liberal legislation and that’s its aim. This is an anti-freedom agenda.

Trump goes against the liberal grain and the liberal domination of the last 120 years. Trump speaks freely. He speaks his mind. He’s not politically correct. He attacks the media. He pokes fun at people. He’s not neutral to all people. He’s opinionated. Liberals want to control his thought. He’s out for American interests as he conceives them. He’s out to revitalize America. The establishment and the liberals want to go back to their New World Order. It’s being threatened. They are ganged up to render Trump ineffective or to drive him from office. Their hatred of him is palpable.
