Where Is the War on Snakes?

I heard on a BBC newscast yesterday that there are 20,000 snakebite incidents every year. I looked this up here and found that “according to a 2008 study published in PLoS Medicine, an estimated 20,000 human deaths occur each year from snakebites, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, though with the unreported incidents the total may be as high as 94,000.” And the United States government spends billions every year trying to keep people from smoking marijuana, a substance that doesn’t kill anyone? Where is the war on snakes? The war on drugs is insane. It is also a war on freedom.
