What Give Christians the Right To Kill Non-Christians?

Writes Sudha Shenoy: “From the LRC blog:
_________
Writes a friend: “I have been emailing back and forth with former Presidential candidate Gary Bauer who runs the Christian website ‘OurAmericanValues.org.’ In one of his emails he actually said, ‘I want to kill them before they kill us!’ I asked him to supply me with the Bible verse that backs up that statement. He ended the conversation. It amazes me how far the Republican Party has fallen”
_________

“Altho’ I’m as pacific a person as possible — I subscribe to the Buddhist philosophy — reading statements like Gary Bauer’s makes me see red. What gives him the right to sit in judgment on _any_ of his fellow human beings? Would he say the same about fellow-Christians? fellow-Americans? The _vast majority_ of Muslims find the violence of a few fanatics as abhorrent as any person of goodwill would. And as if there weren’t enough hatred around, this man has to _add_ to it.”

Sudha, many Christians also find the violence of the Christian fanatics abhorrent, such as the ones in the Bush administration.
