Weld County Vs. Gov. Puke–ah, Polis

Linda June sends good news: “The board of county commissioners in Weld County, Colorado, officially refuse to enforce the governor’s illegal mask executive order!”

BOCC response to Gov. Polis’ executive order

As it has throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Weld County Board of Commissioners share a commitment to protecting public health and ensuring our economy can move forward and provide for a safe work environment. As we all continue to work through obstacles presented by COVID-19, Weld County Commissioners stand firm in their belief that reducing the spread of COVID-19 comes down to personal responsibility, not government mandates.

Hear, hear!

The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment will not enforce Gov. Polis’ executive order, which has no legal effect, requiring residents to wear non-medical face coverings indoors.

WHOA!!!

The power of the state executive is limited by state statute. There are specific powers granted to the Governor to enact executive orders. However, Gov. Polis does not have the legal authority through an executive order or by other means to require citizens to wear masks. …

“In Weld County, we believe in the individual responsibility of citizens to determine how best to protect themselves, their family, their business and their consumers,” Weld County Chair Mike Freeman said. “Where the governor wants to force everyone to wear a mask, we believe in our citizens’ individual right to make that determination.” …

What’s this guy doing in political office? Shouldn’t he have succumbed to the dictatorial itch by now?

Linda adds,

I think few people really understand what an executive order really is. They aren’t public laws and especially have no impact on the citizenry. All they do is allow the gov or pres to direct his executive departments to do or not do something according to the mandates of a law validly passed by the legislature in question.

Sadly, the public fool system

Love it!

strikes again. Whatever they teach, if anything, about legitimate government processes seems to be pretty thin. Most people have no clue that they don’t have to obey an executive order. They obey because the heads on TV tell them they must. It’s tragic. How does the Lord put it in Scripture? “My people perish for a lack of knowledge.”

And a lack of wisdom, too, as they cringe before politicians and bureaucrats.
