Waiters and Waitresses Turned into Humorless Nazi Enforcers

Back in the old days before mid-March, if one sat down at a restaurant in my town the waiter or waitress would approach you with a smile and say something like “Can I get you a drink?” or “Would you like to hear about our specials?”  Good customer service is of course the key to any restaurant’s success (and the maximization of tips for waiters and waitresses).  Today, several of them I have encountered approached my table with scowls on their faces and said:  “Did they tell you the rules when you came in the door?”  — referring to the completely asinine policy of requiring food purchases and not just alcohol.

This of course has nothing whatsover to do with “pubic health.”  What it is about is ensuring that NO ONE — NO ONE!!! — disobey’s our rulers’ orders that bars are not to be opened.  It’s all about the power trips the mini Mussolinies are on.
