The NY Times attacks Ron Paul for having investment guy Peter Schiff for an economic advisor, because Peter’s father is the famous tax resister, Irwin. Now, while I like Irwin very much, and consider him a political prisoner, I do not agree that taxes are illegal. After all, governments are instituted to rip us off. Therefore, government laws and government courts would hardly prevent the government from extracting every dime it thinks in its interest to extract. On the other hand, Irwin’s description of the government as a “criminal organization,” which so outrages the Times, is obviously true. But that’s according to the natural law, not legislative fiat.
BTW, Irwin, an elderly man who has never harmed a soul, was put in a federal cage this time for talking about his mistaken tax theories, despite the first amendment. That was the act of a criminal organization. (Thanks to Stanley Pinchak.)
