As French President Hollande meets his Iranian counterpart Rouhani this week, trade is at the center of the agenda. Iran has announced its preference for European Airbus passenger planes, which freezes Boeing out of a potentially lucrative deal. The problem is the real isolationists in the US — those who dominate both political parties and who prefer sanction, intimidation, threats, and worse to force the rest of the world to follow their dictates.
