What a hoot. We are never shown our rulers looking anything but their edited best, with lighting and camera angles just so. Thanks to Michael Moore, now we can see the slack mouth and close-set, beady eyes of Bush; the crooked mouth and shark eyes of Cheney; the demonic grin of Wolfowitz as he coats his hair with saliva; and the very weird Ashcroft. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen him warbling one of his own compositions glorifying the feds. He could be an alien from the Planet Adolf.
Yes, there is plenty wrong with Moore, but drop everything and go see his movie. For exposing the costs of war (to Iraqis and America’s child soldiers), US totalitarianism after 9/11, the sinister boobs in Congress, the financial crimes of the Bush family and the military-industrial-Saudi complex, and the willing liars in our state-friendly media, there has never been anything like it. The Palme d’Or? Give it a much higher award: The Murray.
