Trump Now Has a Six-Percentage-Point Lead Over Harris

…on Polymarket (see below as of 9.10.24, 5:25 PM ET).  Interestingly, on PredictIt, Harris has dropped down to even with Trump at 52¢ each (but, as promised, I will not capture and post any more of PredictIt’s findings as I think their methodology and-or results have been suspect).

Thankfully, Trump’s advisors (Jason Miller in particular) stuck to their guns and blocked The Don from allowing the original agreed-on debate rules (in place before the June 27 debate with Biden) to be modified for tonight’s debate.  Specifically, this was the un-muting of the candidate microphones that Kamala wanted so much.  Kamala was thirsting for an, “Excuse me, I’m speaking!  Excuse me, I’m speaking!” moment where she would get to play the bullying victim against Trump as she did against Mike Pence in 2020.  While that won’t happen tonight, there are almost certainly many other ersatz tricks she’ll try to pull.  However, trying to remember too much can backfire badly, as Joe Biden discovered.  The Don has to just try to be disciplined–yes, what a laugh–stick to policy, and leave the personal attacks and insults at home.  Right now it may be his race to lose if it’s fair.  And that’s a big if.
