Subject: On Writing Journal Articles There are a lot of journal articles I feel like I would like to write on obvious issues such as minimum wage, free trade, etc. before I write on something harder like the topics we usually talk about such as abortion or conjoined twins. Would it be a waste to write on easier subjects since they are so obvious? Would it be harder to get them published than the more advanced stuff? NF
Dear NF: My answer to the question of What topic to write on? is to ignore those considerations of publication, and choose whatever at the moment is the most FUN. You’re supposed to have FUN in this career of ours of promoting liberty and good (Austrian) economics. Murray Rothbard was not known only as Mr. Libertarian. He was also known as the Joyous Libertarian. I try to emulate my friend and mentor Murray as much as possible. Certainly, I try to do so in this regard.
